Bonjour my fake bake beauty, I am here to tell you with #nofilter all about Filter by Molly-Mae.

I'm sure you are wondering whether this plush pink product is really worth the £19.99 it is retailed at and I am here to tell you it is... kind of. Overall I thought the tan was great, even when pitted against my lord and saviour Miss Bondi Sands, Filter definitely holds its own. However, who takes crown is still up for debate...so let's get onto the specifics.

COLOUR-WISE the product definitely has a more orange undertone. Now let's get one thing clear, there is nothing wrong with that! You are not going to look like our least favourite US president if you use this tan. When I say undertone I do mean tonally it has a more orange hint than olive-brown tones, the up-side of this being there was no green to be seen.

Choosing which shade of Filter is best fit for you is an interesting dilemma I found myself in. Normally, I am not afraid of a strong, healthy glow so hit me up with the ultra dark and I am set. HOWEVER before you go strong and wrong, please let me inform you that the pigment in this tan is fantastic. Therefore in my professional opinion, unless you are naturally on the more sun-kissed side of life I would opt for medium or dark, rather than extra dark. Especially if you are in fact the fairest of them all (Casper the friendly ghost pale) like myself. I went for dark and applied two layers. (See below post shower pic.)

TEXTURALLY this product is EXCELLENT with a capital E. I would even go as far to say it takes the cake amongst all fake tans as far as texture and application goes. It dried quick enough to prevent me from dancing (clumsily wafting) around my room but not so quickly that you can't blend it after a few seconds if you need to. Also, when showering hardly any product came off which was lovely. For me they absolutely *clears throat* nailed it.

Upon application the SMELL didn't have even a whiff of T-A-N which was quite remarkable. What I will confess however, is post wash-off the tan did revert back to the scent we all know and (secretly) love and that is very much of digestives.

Now I know what you are thinking. HOW have I gone this long without even mentioning the gloriously glam and fantastically extra Filter fake tan mitt. Before you ask, no I did not take the plunge and get the mini-mitt as well and yes, it is a decision I have had to live with every day since. YES the mitt is fantastic and it did make the application process even better. Should I have been an adult and waited for the mini mitt to come back into stock? Absolutely.

I would definitely recommend getting the set if you can (the set includes both mitts and tan), the mitt is high quality and a great material. I will be using the normal mitt for all my other fake tans and I think the mini mitt would be great for tanning your face and hands. If it isn't within your budget, then just go for the tan and your normal mitt of choice, it won't make too much difference!

BED SHEET transfer? Absolutely none. I wore a dressing gown in bed and as a result did get very hot. I was very impressed to see I had no sweat patches when I woke up and nothing on my bed and pillows! (snaps for you Filter) Although, if I did have my white bedding on at the time I would have definitely slept with towels on my pillows just incase. But all in all no transfer!

The LONGEVITY of the tan was really good, I was ON IT with the moisturiser (after every shower) and I wasn't taking baths, only showers. These are the two main things which will keep your tan going strong. As a result, Filter stayed looking fresh for five days before it showed any sign of going patchy. This tan would be perfect at a festival or an event where you need a bold slick-rick tan for more than one evening.

Although I can't see why Molly-Mae didn't jump at the opportunity to name each shade of tan after an Instagram Filter (see what I did there), I can't knock the queen of social media for producing a truly brilliant product... even if part of me wishes I could be writing I was wearing shade 'Valencia' or 'X-Pro II'.
